The Training School will provide trainees with theoretical and practical knowledge on Web Survey Paradata. More specifically, the training school will give trainees the answer to the following three questions: i) what kind of information can we get with web survey paradata? ii) how can we collect this information? and iii) how can we use this information?
The training school is organised by Ioannis Andreadis from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The subjects included into the training school have been decided during meetings between Ioannis Andreadis and Mick Couper while the former was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan. The inaugural lecture of the Training School will be given by Mick Couper.
According to the WebDataNet Management Committee decision the Web Survey Paradata Training School will be linked to Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) i.e. after the Training School, the trainees will use WebDataNet STSM to go to an organization that produces Web Survey Paradata and they will apply the new knowledge they have got from the Training School. This connection between the training school and followings STSMs will maximize the benefits for the trainees because in addition to the hands-on experience on real web survey paradata duting the training school, they will have the opportunity to get deeper into the world of web survey paradata. At the same time it will be beneficial for WebDataNet partners who produce web survey paradata because they will be able to host researchers who will be capable to work on their paradata and extract useful information from them.
As a result the training school is aimed to researchers from across Europe who want to learn how they can collect and analyse web survey paradata and who wish to apply this knowledge by visiting one of the WebDataNet partners who produce web survey paradata.
